I have been feeling that I am drinking too much.At home mostly , and its become a bad habit of about three glasses of wine every night. I didnt really think this app would help but thought I would give it a try and listen to it as I am settling down to sleep. Its been four days now and I am not craving a drink as I normally do so I am amazed at how it is working as is my partner. I recommend it. Easy, painless, Fabulous!
I was a drinker for 15 years since I was 18. I drunk at least 3 bottles of beer, or a half or more bottle of wine every single night for 7 days a week. I knew I should have quitted, I tried many times, and I failed. I drunk even when I was sick, because I couldnt be at home without them. There was one night, I didnt drink for some reason, and I thought this was a chance; if I miss this chance, I would never be able to quit. On the second day, my stomach hurt, and I was so anxious, I bought this app and kept listening to it till I fell a sleep. I did it for about 2 weeks, and I became able not to drink without this app. It was still hard for me not to drink when I went out with my friends, but I didnt because I kept reminding the word in the app "You tell your friend, I dont drink." I think, when I used to fail to quit drinking, I wasnt serious enough. I kept thinking, may be I can have one beer, or may be I quit tomorrow, or, "well this is a special occasion, I should drink." This app made me realized what it really means when you decide to break the habit; it takes a strong commitment and will to quit. So I recommend to try this app, its not too much investment compare to going to a doctor.
Well, its been 7 days without drinking. I have listened every day. Im amazed that I have no desire for a drink. I went to the country club on days 1 & 2 without any drinks. My friends were drinking and i just had water. I would normally have several cocktails, but didnt even want any. One evening we attended a cocktail party. I was quite nervous. This was on day 5. We made our way to the bar and I had 3 glasses of ice water, zero alcohol. No one even noticed. Everyone was drinking and i felt so good about myself as I drank my water. Its now Fri night. Still no desire to have a drink. I feel better than I have in years.
Andrew Johnson changed my life. With his gentle, lilting voice Andrew laid the groundwork mentally for me to make that leap into an alcohol free life, which I really thought was UNdoable. After having my life managed by wine and not realizing it until I was hooked, I started listening to Andrews Quit Drinking hypnosis at night with my earbuds on. I honestly can say that I dont know what he said because after about six minutes I was in a deep restful peaceful sleep. And then paired with Allen Carrs "Stop Drinking Now" book I made the leap into alcohol free. AND IT WAS NOT HARD!!!!! In fact it was so much easier than I ever imagined I wish I had done it years before and been present much more in my life. I still listen to Andrews tape every night, his voice is so soothing its like being rocked to sleep by a beloved parent. I believe he laid subconscious framework and the book laid the conscious framework and the two together made it easy, painless...beyond belief. For years & years I have been thinking of laying down the corkscrew. I did not know it was so easy. DO IT! You will thank yourself every morning when you wake up with bright sunshiney eyes and happiness on your face.
Like other reviewers, I was ready to make a change -- not interested in 12-step programs, not interested in medically directed rehab programs, just wanted to change my drinking by myself. Was already taking Naltrexone, with some success -- but I wanted more control. App was mentioned in a number of reviews elsewhere, thought Id give it a try. Very first time I listened to it I was a convert: had nothing to drink that evening, no urges, no cravings (just like promised). I listen to it every afternoon, just before the normal start of cocktail hour. After 35 minutes or so of deep relaxation and positive suggestions, Im up and raring to go. My partner sits there with his glass of wine and it means absolutely nothing to me. Amazing! I will probably augment this app with SMART recovery program for the long haul -- but this app has given me the push to become an ex-drinker. Highly recommended!
Been using it 2 weeks. After detoxing I listen every night before bed. Havent had a sip in two weeks. Big accomplishment for me. Thanks
I used the weight loss with good success and keeping the weight off has not been a problem. Ive found that one or two drinks have become three or four. This is a concern so I am trying the app. I may not be a good candidate as I dont care if I quit or cut back to one or two. So far my interest in having a drink is zero. Sometimes I have one or two and sometimes none. Ill review again in three weeks
I like this app but it seems to have a lot of negative phrases. Dont, no, never... I think it would be more productive by turning the same phrases into positive ones. I am a healthy sober individual, etc.. It does have positive ones also I just think its counter productive to include negative ones with it.
Im a social drinker who sometimes is swayed a bit by peer pressure. I thought this would be a good experiment to see if I could be influenced by hypnosis in order to cut back on my intake- and because I have used other recordings from Andrew and have benefitted immensely. Well, this worked a bit too well. Its been almost 3 weeks and I havent even thought once about a drink. Last night, I was out with friends and found myself ordering water without even batting an eyelash. Weird-especially coming from someone who loves a glass of wine. Although I did not see myself as having a problem, I can imagine that anyone who seriously needs to quit would find this super helpful.
Ill admit here that some people would call me an alcoholic. Ive had multiple drinks almost every single night for about 10 years. Lately, Ive come to realize that this isnt good for me or my friends/family and have tried to cut back, but no such luck. Mentally, I had been wanting to quit/cutback for the past couple months, but still found myself with a 12 pack et night. I downloaded this app over a week ago with the intentions of it helping me quit, but put it off for a few nights because I wasnt sure I wanted to quit if it worked. I put the app on, 4 nights ago as I was laying down to bed (with a good buzz) and barely made it through the intro. Strange thing though, the next day I didnt stop for beer on the way home from work. Ive listened to it the past 3 nights, but still havent stayed awake till the end of it but have not had a beer in 4 days. I even went to a NFL tailgate party where 12 friends were drinking and wasnt even tempted to have a drink. Its almost like I lost all motivation to even have a beer. I dont know if thats really what I wanted, but Im not complaining. I hope this keeps up. The app has a cool feature that you can delay wake and I use it to wake me up in the morning peacefully before work. Its almost like youre coming out of a trance and well-rested every morning. My only issue is that theres also a "wake up" option that is supposed to wake you when the app is done if you fall asleep and I havent got that to work properly. Tried it during the day a couple times with no luck. 5 star app...so far so good!
Used every night for several weeks. Doesnt work at all. Just a gimmick to get your money.
This is the most amazing app and the first many I am using from Andrew Johnson. I have struggled since the first time I ever drank as a teenager with wanting to not drink (25+ years) but not being able to stop After the first time I used the app all desire to drink was gone and I had no withdraw symptoms. I also smoke when I drink or I should now say drank and I have no desire to smoke either. So far im at six weeks of being a non drinker and feel like a new person. I have withstood pressure from a drinking friend with no problem and have been to holiday parties drinking only water or sodas. Thank you Andrew Johnson. I feel that I can accomplish anything now. And I already feel like a better parent, wife and person!! Love the other apps too!
I have been using this app twice per day for two weeks, and am very pleased to see a remarkable difference in my views of alcohol and drinking. I have not completely stopped drinking, however the urge to drink is greatly diminishing with each day. I find myself much more conscious of what is going into my body when I consume alcohol. I feel a sense of relaxation and peace when thinking about social situations and drinking. I typically fall asleep during my bedtime session, however I must say that Andrews positive affirmations stick with me throughout the day. This app is impacting my life in so many positive ways. I feel as if i have my own therapist taking form as Sean Connery with each and every listen! Thank you Andrew, your guided meditations are life changing for me and I am forever grateful!!

This is a waste of $ and time
Its been three weeks since using this app & I am really thankful & impressed. How I perceive drinking & alcohol is drastically different. Before I couldnt have had any wine in my house without drinking the entire bottle. Now, I am almost repulsed by the thought of a glass of wine. After falling asleep listening to AJ every night, and seeing others inebriated, has made a huge impression on me. This app has given me more energy during the day now. My impulse to purchase a bottle of pinot is out the door. I couldnt be more satisfied. (I am so pleased, Ive even downloaded other AJ apps.) As far as I am concerned, this is a miracle! Download it and try it. Its cheaper than a beer, or worse ruining your life or someone elses.
I have to admit I was very skeptical at first, but I am now a believer. After having such success with Andrews, I searched for more, but this is by far the most relaxing and best quality hypnosis app Ive come across. I truly do not desire to drink like before. I look forward to my nightly pep talk from Andrew ;) Good stuff!
Im the type of person who comes home and shares a bottle of wine with my husband with dinner and has an extra glass or two on the weekends. After years of doing this I can see the wear and tear its having on my health and energy, but all the logic in the world hasnt helped us cut down or quit our daily habit! Ive listened to this app every day for a week and it has helped me stay much more relaxed and grounded all throughout the day. As a result, Im making better decisions all around. I think I am well on my way to successfully giving up alcohol completely. An unexpected result is that I also find myself able to make better decisions about food throughout the day and that Im not feeling so anxious. I havent found myself eating to manage my emotions as much and have lost two pounds!
I agree with the positive comments below. Like someone else said, its cheaper than a beer. Its also relaxing. The people who consider this app a waste of time/$ are probably stubborn closed minded and make arguments with everyone they know. Andrew Johnson rocks
